Fuji Gotemba werd in 1972 opgericht door Kirin Seagram (nu Kirin Distillery Company) aan de zuidoostflank van de berg Fuji bij Gotemba, in de prefectuur Shizuoka. De locatie op zo'n 620 meter hoogte werd gekozen vanwege het koelere, minder vochtige klimaat, dat als ideaal voor whiskyrijping wordt beschouwd. De distilleerderij gebruikt smeltwater van de Fuji en staat bekend om haar zachte, elegante Japanse whisky's.

Fuji Gotemba werd in 1972 opgericht door Kirin Seagram (nu Kirin Distillery Company) aan de zuidoostflank van de berg Fuji bij Gotemba, in de prefectuur Shizuoka.
