The Lakes Distillery werd in 2014 opgericht door Paul Currie, mede-oprichter van Arran, in een gerenoveerde 19e-eeuwse boerderij bij Bassenthwaite Lake in het Lake District. De distilleerderij staat bekend om haar sherry-gedreven, houtrijke single malts en bracht in 2018 haar eerste single malt, Genesis, uit. In 2022 werd haar whisky bekroond als 'World's Best Single Malt'. Naast whisky maakt men er ook gin en wodka.
